Mandeville and the surrounding area were once serviced by a train known as the Ohoka Punt. A railway platform still exists opposite the Mandeville Village on Bradleys Road, hence ‘The Platform’ came to be.
The Platform is a locally owned bar, restaurant and café with an appreciation for local history and an aim to serve good quality, delicious food and drink to the Mandeville community and beyond.
The Platform is owned by local couples, Tony and Brenda and John and Sally who have lived in and loved the Mandeville area for over 15 years.
“After a few social drinks together five years ago we noted the need for a local meeting place that the community could call their own, and when the Mandeville Village idea presented itself we realised that we could be the ones to make this happen. We love good food, good drink and a good chat – we look forward to meeting you soon!”
